Havent used the boat in 8 months. Got stranded in the water today. Enginde didnt start followed by a long beep. I assumed was overheating. Left the engine cool down and started back up. Any suggestions what could be causing the heating problem?

thanks

Take a look in the manual to confirm that one long beep does mean overheating. Those beeps are usually coded. When it started again, was there water coming out the tell tale? You may have just picked up a plastic bag or something while you were out or it may be a problem with your water pump.

Sitting eight months I would consider changing the water pump impeller. Sitting to long it gets memory and water by passes it when turning. Next check the thermostat. Here again sitting to long could be rusted and a little closed.
