96 Marine Power 350 - CODE 42 with Tranny Knock??? HELP!

Had a potential buyer for my boat. Before sea trail had code 42 (Electronic Spark Timing Malfunctions) come up. After sea trail and boat being ran to the pins for a few minutes, I now have a knock near the bell housing. Any help would be greatly appreciated with these 2 issues.

do a www search for the appropriate MEFI manual (probably and -1 or 2). It will have the diagnostic procedure to resolve your ignition issue...

As far as the knock - hard to say without more detail....could be related to the ignition issue or could have been caused by it or may be completely unrelated.
