force 50 starting problems

I have an issue starting the engine. It seems the engine is not wanting to crank over fast enough for it to start. When I take the plugs out then it cranks over as it should.

Batteries are good. Starter seems to be doing its thing. Seems the compression is to great for the starter to over come.

It was working fine 2 years ago.

I'm total newbie in terms of marine engines. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Start with a compression test.
Uneven comp can cause the hard turn over.
Remove both plugs while doing the test.

That ok?
Test battery.
Clean starter.
Check the ground connections and battery cables for weak spots..
Take starter apart
