yanmar 1gm10 acc reverse polarity new battery/ pop/ smoke then...

Dont install battery while crying about boyfriend! Accidental reverse polarity, pop, thin spiral of smoke from engine then when I corrected the cabling the sound alarm starts without the ignition being turned on... can anyone offer help please?:confused:
 
I have read a lot of posts about checking the fuse, alas this boat does not apparently have one, looking for next best offer :)
 
You may have blown the diodes in the alternator so tat has to come out to the repair shop. Now just check the harness and wiring to and from the panel for tight connections. Look for darn or burn spots.
