Don't know if this is common or not, but the lower threads on both power trim/tilt hydraulic pistons that hold the zincs in place have stripped on my 2003 BRAVO 3.
In order to holds the 'zinc' securely, there needs to be (2) bolts per piston/zinc holding it in place.
I tried longer bolts to bite into a few deeper threads but no go.
I believe the next size bolt is 1/4" - they are thick! and I don't know if there is enough meat in that area to tap these in.
The only other thing I can think of is to tap in (2) new holes completely, per zinc. This might be a hassle as getting a drill perpendicular to the surface will be almost impossible due to the piston being in the way.
Anyone have advice on this repair ?
The Bravo 3's are notorious for corrossion and my OCD won't rest until I fix it !
Thx...
