HI my 2005 Merc 8hp long shaft 4 stroke outboard which is virtually in new condition has a problem.
It has to do with the co-pilot ( controls the tiller steering such that when trolling I don't have to keep my hand on the tiller)
The red lever does not move. the problem is the bolt that the red handle is attached to does not pivot. I'm told I should right to tighten an left to loosen (from the top) have broken off the head of the bolt and have been spraying wd40 on it for a month hoping it will free up. I've used some heat on it as well.
It's not budging.
Before I start to drill it out and suggestions?
everything is clean, no visible corrosion
