Electrical mystery 1976 Cobalt

Recently picked up a '76 cobalt with omc 190.

i've a way to go before its back on the water but, it behaves nomally when jumper cabeled to a vehicle, but when on its own new battery, only the gauges flicker and the bilge light will turn on...

i'm thinking bad ground connection somewhere? already checked fuses...

i'm fairly versed on mechanical issues but not electrical

any help is appreciated

Will do.

I think i would've noticed an issue there by now, lugging batteries and chargers in and out, connecting/disconnecting, but i'll look!

I will post some pics asap.... would love to get this thing on the water this season once i exorcise its demons
