bf 25 tuneup

what else is done in a tuneup besides plugs and carb adjust on a pre 97 BF 25. im having hard starts, have to choke and turn over way to long. runs an idles fine after it starts.

Plugs and carb adjustment and balance is just about it. Changing engine oil, filter, gear lube and fuel filter are generally part of yearly service anyway.

If the motor is running good once it starts....have you been putting the shifter in throttle only and advancing the throttle or advancing the fast idle lever (on self contained shift box with key) when starting? You should advance the throttle pretty far.

The engine should start right up....although you may have to momentarily hit the choke a couple of times for the first few seconds if the motor starts to falter.
