Volvo AD31L With 2500 Hours - Is It Done?

Hi Folks,

I am considering buying a 1995 boat with a Volvo AD31L. It has 2500 hours on it. I intend to replace it, but wondered how many hours you can expect out of these motors? I understand it can vary greatly depending on how it is used and maintained, but I am just looking for an average.

It is a twin prop I/O sterndrive.

I am planning on switching to a 90-110hp gas outboard. But is there a newer sterndrive that is quiet and lower vibration that would be worth considering in that HP range?

Hi, first, to purchase a boat with inboard and then change to a outboard is a job for a person with a big wallet and alot of time.
This Engine will stand for 5000 hours without any majour repair if mantained good, the follower is the KAD32 with 170hp.
If you have a big wallet you can change to the new D3 with new stern.
