Fuel bulb and filter placement

Hi, I am building my own fuel line with bulb and filter. Can some one tell me where in the line the bulb and the filter be placed. It Is a 18 horse motor on a 15 aluminum fishing boat. I am using seven feet of 3/8 gas hose. thanks for the help.
 
from the tank to the bulb to the filter to the motor....i like the bulb where i can reach it from the drivers seat ...the only filter i use is a water filter...
