replacement of exhaust bellows

i am trying to put a 5.7 liter exhaust bellows back on I just bought the boat and the owner never finished it only had one side on the new bellows Is there a special tool to side the hose on it seams to short any ideas how to get on would be helpful this is a 1984 wellcraft with a 5.7 liter and mercruiser out drive Thanks

Did he install a new style Speed bellows or is it the old style corrugated exhaust bellows?

Old style do the new style work better

Take a set of BBQ tongs and bend the ends out.Insert on either side of the shift lever and push out while pulling.Put on the clamp TIGHT.

Only works if you have 3 hands.

Got it thanks for all the replies had to lower the drive down most of the way and got cable ties on it and then added a rathet strap and it mostly went on from there

If the new bellows is easier is because it looks like it is only connected on one end does it just set there why does the exhaust have to go through the prop can it just dump into the water
