I bought a Yamaha 8B, one before 2000 and I got some interesting issues with this one.
I can run this engine for 5-6 hours straight, and it works just fine, but I can also run it for 10 minutes and then when I stop the engine it won't run anymore. The next day i've tried it again and it still didn't start. The carb cleaned, the choke and ignition checked nothing was wrong. I've put it away for 6 months and I tried again and it ran fine, went with it a whole day, no issues. I stop the engine and 1 houR later I tried to start it again and it didn't work again, a week later it was still dead but a few months later...it worked again....
what can I do about this unreliability of not starting when it was stopped, even if the engine is warm or cold, doesn't matter
