Gear shifting noise

Hi Boat people around the world.

I have a mercruiser 3,0, Alhpa One II from 2006.

I was just about to unleach the family monster when I tested the forward and backward gear shift.

It is makinig (for me) strange noise - kind like the "clutch" or what ever mekanism is not working ok.

Sound like the gear are still runing when shifting forward and backward (Clattering or grinding noise from the alpha drive when engaging gear)

When the motor is running even in neutral , the gears are always turning.-----------You need to shift with a quick motion to avoid the clattering.

I'm a gentle man, but I hear you, I need to be rough ;)

Boat hits the Norwegian fjords tomorrow.
