I didnt own a torque so had a friend come over with his he did it per instruction torque is 96-120 in three steps. ran it all is ok however blew a gasket on my lawn mower and needed a torque wrench again s. I went and got an adt micro adjust out of curiosity I went back and checked the torque of the head on my evinrude and its 205 will this be ok or should I get a new gasket and redo it? thank you

We need the model number of your Evinrude in order to answer that question properly.... OR if you're absolutely sure of the year and hp, that'll do.

Also.... this torque wrench you're using, is it "inch" or "foot" pound wrench?

25302 = 1973 25hp Evinrude

96-120 inch pounds = 8-10 foot pounds

205 inch pounds = 17.08 foot pounds

Double check your reading of 205 inch pounds. If you are correct about that reading, change the torque reading... loosen and re-torque. You may be able to reuse the gasket.
