Hi all,
I have just bought a boat with a Mariner 15hp 2 stroke 2006 outboard engine, I have tried running it today and noticed that it would start ok but wouldn't idle right, the revs would be up and down, and then would eventually cut out completely.
I noticed that fuel was leaking out of a small hole in the diaphragm assembly on the carb, so I took it apart and can see that the diaphragm is worn so needs replacing.
But the problem I am having is trying to understand what the idle adjustment knob does, because when I turn it nothing at all happens. I've inspected all the linkage bits but I think there may be some bits missing. I'm guessing it's supposed to advance the ignition???
Can anyone take a look at the below photos and let me know what is going on please?
