Fairly new to outboards and I'm pretty happy with them. I'm trying to hang with some of those "bigblocks" I currently have twin mercury 225HP XXL and CXXL on my boat. I'm wanting to go with Triple 225HP's for now. The set up I'm wanting to go with is CXL & XL and one XXL. Can I change my XXL's and Make them or at least one of them an XL? I see that the XXL's have a 5" spacer plate. I was wondering if by removing the spacer plate and changing out the lowercase for a XL would work? Any advice would be appreciated. Also my end game is to have triple 300HP outbords or triple 300HP Verados. again any help with setting this up or anything would help me a lot!
