question, gimble bearing and seal (26-88416). I bought a new bearing in Dec. and was putting it in yesterday.
the new bearing doesn't have a grease hole (its pre-sealed) I plan to exchange for the bearing with the hole. was I sold the right bearing.
Quicksilver 30-87914a01 bearing kit-Gimble

how often should I change the gimble bearing. I am currently changing every 2 years.

also the seal is tough to get out, do you guy have an easy method? my seal puller is to large to fit.

boat is a Bravo iii, 350 mag.

thanks

The seal does not need to be replaced often if ever. It kinda seals the engine area from the bellows area.........Not very critical. if water gets into bellows it will still get into bilge......if upper carrier seal leaks gear oil into bellows it to will get into bilge..........

The bearing is correct. New one is sealed and no need to grease.

My current gimbal bearing is over 15 years old.........grease-able.

So you replace as need be not as a precaution. Symptom of failing is usually a grumbling sound when turning steering all the way one way or the other.

Odds are you should not have to replace this again for a very very long time!
