Antique Evinrude, Fuel/Oil Mix Ratio

Have antique Evinrude, probably 1925 to 1935. Need to know correct fuel mix. Once had a 1956 30hp Evinrde and it used 25:1 gas/oil mix. I suspect the old motor needs even more oil.

In checking the numbers I found out the motor is a 1939 3hp Evinrude. I decided to use 16:1 gas/oil mix. After cleaning out the carb, tank, etc., and much raping the rope and pulling it started and runs good. Also replaced the condenser and sparkplugs. Not bad for a 76 year old motor. The water pump seems to be very weak. The impeller is metal instead of rubber. Probably don't need to run for long periods.

This is not quite a fuel/oil mix question. I purchased a 1961 Sea King 5HP outboard. I have no manuals with it. I want to change the gear oil. Is there a recommendation of a type of oil given that it is a vintage motor?
