I found a real nice looking Johnson sea horse 5.5 cd-12 motor in the local junk yard last week. It's a good looking motor so I bought it for 15 bucks. I bought a new impeller, and some new gaskets on this site. also bought some replacement parts on ebay. now I need to know what I need for a fuel tank. I found a nice looking and extremely clean evinrude cruis a day 6 gallon tank (no hoses) in the same junk yard so I bought it for $2.60. I,m wondering if i can use that tank or do i need a different style tank. I've never monkied around with boat motors, so i'm in the dark here. for under 90 bucks i'll have a good running old Johnson outboard motor. next problem i have is.....what do i do with it? thought about selling it or making a mount for my 18 foot canoe. anyways, any help with the fuel tank would be greatly appreciated.
