Hi everyone, I am new to the forum and know that I will gain a lot from it.
I went out on my boat, I have a Yamaha f70 motor, and was on the plane when I had to do a very fast emergency stop. The problem is that in my rush to stop I shifted from forward gear straight into revers, NOT GOOD. The motor shut down and after about 10 seconds I had it running again. I noticed some oil visible and decided to head back to the boat ram. There I took off the cover (cowl) that fit ontop of the motor and saw a lot more oil visible inside. Can anybody shed some light on what could have happened...Have I busted a oil seal perhaps? The motor sound all right.
