74 Chrysler 340 Intake Manifold replacement question.

I have a 340 in my old boat. When I removed the thermostat this year I noticed the manifold looked very pitted and rusty inside. I think I should replace it before I run into issues.

Any tips from those who have done it before?

Can I just use an Edelbrock intake manifold or does it have to be something special for marine use? I already have a felpro gasket set.

Thanks,
Steve

Bad idea to convert an old motor to closed cooling--rust issues (clogs the exchanger). Going to an aluminum intake with raw water cooling is another bad idea (electrolysis). See why they all used cast iron?

There should be a 7 digit number on the current manifold. Post and or that search that number, see what turns up.

Example: chrysler 3462847
