I have a 2005 2.5 with square heads and want to use a new power head with pound style

I have a 2005 2.5 200 carb with a toasted piston. I bought a new merc factory 2.5 carb, but it has different style heads. Will this still work on my lower end.
 
There are several head types but on a 2.5 you have either have one piece heads that uses a gasket or a flat head that uses O-rings and powerheads are interchangeable
