Volvo Penta NMEA interface

I'm trying to get some information on how to get more information from my Volvo Engines.

I have a Catamaran with 2 x Volvo Penta D1-30F engines that have the EVC controller. I can find the Volvo part 3889758 NMEA interface and the required 3588206 Y cable. I think to connect it to my Raymarine electronics I need a SeatalkNG to device net female cable. Still not sure where exactly I plug all these in but I do have a spare hole on the Raymarine side.

Anyone done this? Was it worth it? Anything to watch out for?

Confused as to "Do I needed 1 per engine or just 1 and it works for both engines" however not sure they are connected anywhere?

I would think the amount of information from a D1-30 is limited but what will it give me in the way of data, as these things are not cheap? I cant find documentation as to what information is published by these.

Thanks
