225 power head on a 200

I have a boat with 2004 twin 200 mercury carb models. I need to replace one power head and have found a good used 2003 225 carb model. My question is can I put this power head on and what would I need to do to de - rate the horse power so it is the same as the 200. Is this possible??
 
Why de-rate it?

You can se if the power head will at least fit the driveshaft housing by looking at the gasket part numbers for both.

As long as its a not a Magnum(240hp) or a Promax(260hp) powerhead it will work as the carbs off your old motor will restrict it. Not much you can do about porting but it will work as it will be about 210 hp.
