Hi there,
My 1994 115hp 2stk/4cyl merc outboard was sitting outside under a tarp for eight years (long story).
I can't get the engine to start. Battery is fresh, and the kill switch is not activated. I have an aux gas tank supplying fresh gas to the motor.
The engine turns over fine with the key, but there's no spark.
I checked for spark in each of the plugs with a friend while turning the, and got none. I also had the ignition coil checked and it seems fine.
Could it be the solenoid? Primary coil?
I'm stuck.
