What trolling motor for my 18' Crestliner Phantom

Right now i have a 55lb thrust 12v trolling motor on my 18′ Crestliner and i have to max out my trolling motor to just go the speed i want. Im really looking into getting a 24v system and was wondering if there would be a huge differance between the 70lb and 80lb thrust. The price for an 80 is quite a bit more than the 70 thats why im asking.Any help would be appreciated.

Some charts say a 55 is enough for a 2000 pound boat. I disagree. I think I'd go with the 80 since the 55 is a struggle. Only 15 more might just get you to the edge, then you're saying shoulda, woulda, coulda. Some reserve can be a good thing in wind and current.
