Storage procedure for prolonged exhaust life

Since I am finally getting around to replacing the 26 year old original riser/elbows, I am having thoughts about storage.

It is a salt water boat in SW Florida. This boat will sit for long lengths at a time, up to 8 months in between usages. I am thinking after the system is fresh water flushed, would it be a good idea to drain the risers by pulling lower hose off. This would let them sit dry instead of with water until it evaporates. Was thinking about the same thing for the heat exchanger.

Any thoughts on this or better ideas?

Thanks

I knew that was coming! I just think that was a fluke they lasted that long. Plugged pretty good now though.
