Safe cold level for Series 5000 Velvet drive?

Hello, I am hoping someone can help me.

I know that the only way to get an accurate reading on the level of transmission fluid in my velvet drives is to run it to operating temperate and then check them within 30 seconds of shutdown, but if one suspects it may be dangerously low (too low to run without concern) how far up should I fill it when cold?

I am thinking of at least 1/2 up the fill, since it is my understanding they read higher when cold (fluid has drained back) and lower when warm.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Never done a Liberty drive but plenty of the 72 series gears....we usually verify the fluid amount is correct, per the book, and then go back and 'remark' the dipstick once the equipment has cooled to provide a cold reference....if you see fluid on the dipstick, you should be okay to run the engine....I'd be more worried about where the oil went ....
