Mercury optimax cowling colour

Hi all I'm looking at painting my 2010 Mercury optimax cowling
and wanted to no a few details
is the black a specific black
is it a Matt,gloss or semi-gloss finish

Like the song said, "Black is black, I want my baby back (etc.)." Unless it's a metallic black, all blacks match (when in like new condition).

It's called phantom black, and is available from any merc dealer in small touch-up bottles, rattle-cans, or 1 part polyurethane in quarts.
 
This cowl is not painted it is polished plastic, if repainting you need to use a paint for plastic such as auto bumpers and its a gloss.That why it has the decal to use plastic polish to clean...
