Can I swap a 1989 force 90 hp with a 1989 force 120/125?

I have a proline 17'. I have a 90 hp force. I can get a cheap 120 hp. Both are 1989. Can a swap the motors?

Also have clear water when I changed my lower oil. Think it is a seal kit that is needed and how hard is it to do by yourself? (It is the 90hp I have this problem with.

The 20 and 90 have all the same connectors and wiring.
If the shafts are the same some are 20 some are 25in.
Then the lower will work on the 90 and vice versa.

The seal kit could just be a gasket behind the fill screw or the seals around the prop shaft.
You need to do a pressure test.
On the new motor do a compression test before you start swapping.
