ID year of Mariner 4hp 6E0-300803

Trying to find out year of this 4hp Mariner, Metal id tag has 4M 6E0-300803 on it. I'm thinking a late 80's motor but not sure. thanks for any info.

Is there an L on the tag as I can't find a 4M in that number sequence?

4M is in the top black area of the metal id tag but it does have a small L stamped in right before the 300803 with a space in/between. (it is a long shaft), So I guess it could read.. [h=2]6E0-L 300803. Probably is a 1981. thanks for your help.[/h]

New guy here. Just inherited a old O/B from my father just in time for duck season but I have a Couple questions for you guys hoping someone can help me. I have a Mariner 4HP 2 stroke o/b. SN 4m 6e0 s 115243 made in japan.
1st question: Am I right that this is a 1989 motor?
2nd question: I have been trying to find an owners manual online for it. No luck so far. I did go to the Brunswick marine download centre and found the manuals but I can't figure out which one would be for this particular motor. 3rd question: I do believe it is a 50:1 fuel oil ration am i correct there? if so it seems to smoke a lot. Even for a 2 stroke. Any ideas?
4th question: Does anyone have a source on parts for these O/B?
