1974, 4hp. Drive shaft is stuck/rusted in place.

Was going to replace the impeller and distroied the motor. But I did save the power head. The drive shaft is still stuck. I've been keeping it oiled while its sitting on the bench and have been using a makeshift slide hammer to try and get the shaft out. Any ideas on how I can get the shaft out?

What do you mean by you destroyed the motor? Keep soaking it if it is stuck, Kroil is a good oil to use. Sometimes heating up the driveshaft helps free it but be carefull. I had a driveshaft on a small motor once that never wanted to come loose so I changed out the impeller by pulling the drive shaft out of the lower unit then re/installed the driveshaft back into the lower unit. Good Luck with it.
