I took my 1994 Mercury Xr6 out fishing this past weekend and I mistakenly left it outside of my house. I decided I wasn't going to winterize it because I was planing to take a trip down to Texas next week for a final week of fishing. This is the first outboard I've ever owned and I didn't realize that the water inside the lower unit wouldn't drain out completely unless you trimmed the engine all the way down. This water froze and resulted in a crack somewhere in my lower unit. So I have a few questions for the forum members here!
Is this an easy repair?
How much am I looking at to get this fixed?
Is there anybody in the Dallas area that can repair this damage at a reasonable price?
Thanks!
