I'm assembling the 140 Mercruiser, any tips on the thrust bearing clearance procedure (crank shaft end play)? I feel like mine is a little tight a between 0.002-0.003, really can't get the 0.003 in, shop manual states 0.002-0.006
I use feeler gauges for the measurement, don't have the dial gauges, and not sure if i want to sand the thrust bearing face
any tips on how you guys do this? ...I'm starting over on the assembly, because i only want to do this once, and i know I'm not a professional
