I know this is basic stuff, but haven't been able to find old thread covering winterization of motor with VRO system (mine happens to be 1992 40 hp). My OEM manual says to prepare shop mixture of 5 gal fuel, two quarts omc storage fogging oil, one point johnson outboard lubricant, one pint 2+4 fuel conditioner, and run that mixture through. Also says not to disconnect fuel line and run it dry as it will cause excessive oil consumption and may result in hard starting.
Regarding the omc procedure in my service manual..... I've never seen fogging oil in quart containers, only in spray cans Also, don't have a spare tank for shop mixture. Suggestions on suitable alternate procedure to the OEM service manual?
