I just bought a 74 century resorter to restore. This is my first inboard. I was told it has a 3i8. The motor is incomplete and F'd...top end missing, possibly a 340 auto motor and rusty. I have been looking for a used drop in ready 318, 340, 360. I want to bring this back to life. Chrysler marine engines are not so readily available around here (Antioch Il)... but GM 5.0 and 5.7 are. What are my options for motor transplants??? are there adapter kits out there? or is GM an easy conversion. I have been told the velvet trans will bolt to anything.???
