Ok,
I have av1990 Mercury 175 hp carb. Outboard,
my bulb won't pump up, it's new, tried 3 bulbs, not the problem.
Each time I pump the bulb, I hear a swoosh of air sound coming from the bottom carburetor
if I crank the motor it will run fine with some throttle. And even with the motor running the bulb won't pump up.
What I am guessing is that maybe the float is hanging open and I need to open the carb back up and figure out why???
I have to assume that because it is an intermittent problem that every time I tilt the motor up it is causing the float to open and hang open possibly ???
-New fuel, new fuel pump
-new fuel lines from tank to carbs
-new siphon valve
- cleaned carbs
- new separator and mount
- everything is new,
I know this swoosh of air sound I am hearing has got to be directly related to this issue I've tried everything else this is the only thing left it can be,
