BF90A rebuild

Hey all I am about ready to order parts for my rebuild. And I was just wondering. In the parts catalog online.

http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Honda/Outboard Engine/1997/BF90AT LHTA/CYLINDER HEAD/parts.html

there are two different head gaskets part numbers and im struggling to decide which one i need or of there is any difference.

My outboard identifier code is BBBL BF90A

Thanks in advance to ALLL!

What is the full serial number on the mounting frame of the engine. You show a BBBL but no numbers after it. There will be 7 digits.

That is what you need to determine which gasket that you need.

In you matrix above, it indicates if your serial number is less than 1006683, then you use 12251-ZW1-004. If it is larger, then you use the other gasket.

If you are still not sure and you want to find out without trusting a bunch of "strangers" like us on the internet.......e mail boats.net and get their advice. The additional benefit to that is....if it does turn out to the be wrong gasket, then they are more likely to take it back, versus ordering based on our "stranger" advice. The gasket is not cheap....retails for around $81.
