Trim Control on Throttle Arm

My trim control switch (up and down rocker switch) is only working intermitantly. starting boat up not working, use switch on engine to back out of dock, then lower to get underway. Throttle up then try switch on throttle and it starts working but toss up when it might or might not work.

Any suggestions??

Corroded/dirty connections,clean to shiny.Broken/cracked wiring,test with ohm meter or wiggle the wires about a time it doesn't work,you will need to replace.Faulty trim switch
 
Just a follow up - took apart and wires were cracked (two) fixed and works fine now. Alot of friction when shifting it's amazing the way this is put together!
