1993 40 hp Johnson

My engine will run for a short while then die. I have replaced fuel lines and primer pump. After engine stops i can pump up the fuel and it will start again and run only for a couple of minutes and die again. I can't seemed to find the problem. Any help wold be appreciated.
 
The " primer " is an electric valve and it is not a pump.-----------Find the fuel pump on the motor and look into inspection / repair of it.
 
Thanks for your reply, i meant to say primer bulb not pump, sorry my bad. I am in the process of checking the fuel pump, it has a VRO pump that has the oiler disconnected. Couple of more things I am going to do to be sure its not sucking air. Should I replace the VRO with a regular pump if that is the problem?
