Lift clutch question

Just purchased a boat with a 75 OMC 120, not sure what kind of outdrive I have. It's got the half moon gear for the lift. Does that make it a stringer? The outdrive lift quit working, previous owner said that something had been serviced in the lift clutch housing recently. Outdrive was able to be lifted up and down easily by hand.

I opened the case and the snap ring holding the clutch pack together appeared to have popped out of the groove. (Nice clean oil poured out of the case.) Any tips on compressing the clutch pack so I can get the snap ring back in place? I was reading somewhere that you have to shim the cover as well?

He's talking about an '83. It's late and the cover is bolted on right now, but I did look on the gear side of the tilt clutch shaft and there's a hole but no allen screw. Is the pressure adjustment inside? I'll take it apart again in the morning.

Hopefully, my motor shaft is not broken... Will dissassemble tomorow and hopefully learn more.

The hammer blow coupling behind the tilt motor could also be broken. Does the tilt motor run ??
