i am new at this so pardon if I don't get all the terms right. I have a Johnson SPL 115, model E115TLCO. I was taking the boat out and noticed I did not see any water coming out of the back of the engine from the spray hole or as some might call it, the pee hole. I got concerned and coasted back to ramp and pull out. i put the muffler on bottom housing, and started the engine. No water came out back of engine but there were two small holes just below where the bottom housing is attached that the water shoots out. I got no engine alarms so far. Bottom line, is there suppose to be a stream of water coming out of the upper part of the motor? Trying to determine if water pump is bad.

thanks in advance!!!

Yes, you should get water out of the top of the motor. Pull the lower off and replace the pump if you don't know the last time it was changed.
