Head bolt torque

Re head bolt torque

Bought head gasket printed on it reads Do not use sealer.I s this correct ? Don't you use a sealant for head gasket?

Has anyone heard of this before.? Cheers Andrew

Not unusual at all, it already has a dry sealer on it. Do not add anything else. Make sure surfaces are clean, dry, and flat. Sorry, I don't have the torque specs for that year/model, so don't want to lead you astray.

180 inch -lbs and do not use sealer.----This has been printed on these gasket for some 20 years.---No need to question the experts at the factory.

Bolt Torque = 18 to 20 foot pounds (216 - 240 Inch Pounds). Torque in the following sequence:

9...10
5....6
1....2
4....3
8....7

Any gasket that is marked "Use No Sealer" is coated with a self sealing heat activated sealer. Do not add to this sealer.
