Trim control on throttle arm

After starting motor and backing out from my dock - went to lower engine some more and rocker switch? for tilt control wouldn,t work. Went to the switch on engine (2010 Mercury 60 hp 4 stroke) and lowered it there no problem. After speeding up went to switch on throttle and it now works and continued to work back to dock.

Should I take apart throttle and clean switch contacts of corrosion (if there are any) or replce switch or what?

Thanks thats what I did and found chafed wire. Reconnected wrapped electrical tape and repacked into throttle control. After taking apart you can see how easy this is to get chafed like that with very little space. Should be all set for next season.
 
inside throttle arm at pivot point with box - seems like this would happen over time because of wear moving throttle back and forth
