1989 Yamaha Pro 50. Had a puff of smoke come from the back of motor, smelled like a hot wire. Engine continued to work normally. Close inspection noted a wire (the only wire) that looks to be a ground on the back of the motor above water level had insulation burned off. What does wire do, and can I fix this myself if I replace the wire? Used the motor for the rest of the weeks fishing trip, and noticed no effects.
