Have just bought 1998 Carolina skiff with this engine on it. Compression on all four cyclinders is 107 is this good or bad? Also when engine cranks and I turn the switch back off it will not shut off motor keeps on running is this just a bad ignition switch or should I look else's where?
 
The kill circuit can have a break in it. This circuit includes the ignition switch.

As for the compression numbers, chances are the engine is fouled due to crappy tcw3 oil. Start running Quick Silver Premium Plus and after a few tanks of fuel, with some Yamaha Ring free added, recheck your compression.
 
Thanks alot jeff, i will follow your advice.i am also going to replace the ignition switch it will.no longer activate the choke any mre either
