Hi there!
Ive got a 20hp merc blue band short leg electric start. 1979 model.
The muffs came off today when i was running it and it ran for 2 or 3 seconds before i turned the key off.
It made a higher than normal pitch whirring sound and backfired to a halt.
Now when i run it i get the same whirring sound in neutral and forward but not reverse. The tell tale is still squirting strong.
What do you think i have damaged?
