what part of a 40hp 4 stroke Yamaha motor runs the tack? stator,trigger power pak or what? The wires go to the engine and plug in but I don't know where they run to from there. Tack went crazy and not reading right and then the motor started missing out. any help would keep me from getting out my sledge hammer. thanks.
 
A green wire in the ten pin harness provides the tachometer signal for remote controlled models.

If this is a tiller handled model then the green wire should come from within the tiller handle.

The source signal for the tachometer comes from the rectifier/regulator in the F40 model.
