Skipping on #1 cyl

NS90A

New member
Hello, I have a NS90A that is skipping on number 1 cylinder at idle. I have swapped coils, done a compression check, 140 on all 3, swapped reeds, cleaned the carb it wasn't dirty. But it will fire when I pull off and on repeatedly. It will do 40 mph. I am about to change the crank seal. Unless somebody has a different idea. Thanks

I might try running some OMC or CRC brand engine tuner through to decarbon everything first, and also swap plugs.

Why would the rpm's pick up when I pull the #1 wire off at idle? I took it out last Sunday was able to do 40. Fished for awhile then wen to go back an would not plane off all the way back to truck. Checked top cyl fouled. I am about ready to junk this motor. Am very disappointed in it. Thanks for any ifo.

If you want to fix the problem, diagnose it. Drab your Factory service manual, and test the fuel and electrical systems. Pay particular attention to the ignition system. Are you running new NGK plugs?
