I just bought a 18 1/2 Ft Fischer Sport w/ a 90 horse four stroke carbed.
Boat came from Tennessee and I dont know if the jets have been changed for my altitude in Colorado. I run engine at Granby Res at 8300 ft. I dropped prop to a 13 pitch and revs are at 5900-6000, which I think are spot on. With a half tank fuel and two people, boat only does about 25 mph and seems to "labor", just doesnt seem to plane out all the way. I try to trim out and it instantly cavitates. Motor starts OK, will troll all day with no problems, does seem to flood easily when choked at all. Holeshot is OK, slight hesitation at one point. I want to check the jetting and adjustments and perform myself as prices up here are pretty steep at the shops. I am just not familiar with four strokes and I am not comfortable. Any suggestions?
